That's not just pretty funny but also pretty personal.
I got asked many times when I started to collect. Well, I do have different answers to that.
When did I started to really collect taxidermy/curiosities and whatnot? Around 7 years ago.
When did I start to collect?
My mother kept this glass for a long time. There is a label she wrote back in the days where this originated.
It says:
"Easterholidays 1993 Borkum - Sand from Lara's pockets"
I was 2 years old back then.
Even at that age I tend to put everything in my pockets. And I never really stopped collecting shells, feathers, fossils and other lovely bits from nature.
In every bag I have are nuts, stones and whatnot. Things I collect whilst taking a hike, walking the dog or whatever I do outside.
Why do I upload this?
1) It is funny.
2) To describe a thing which is really important for me: The passion for what I do. What we do. This passion was always there and will always be there. It keeps me running.

Aww, this is so sweet! 
I used to do the same with all sorts of rocks and snail shells for as long as I can remember but my mother thought the snail shells were dirty and threw them out
