Treasure Bottle

I understand that these are part of an art piece (a very beautiful one at that!), but I would like to remind everyone how these are collected. When cats are declawed, not just the claw itself but the entire first joint as well are removed. It is a painful healing process, and many cats toes do not heal properly, which leads to sores and walking problems. Imagine trying to go through life with the first joint of all you fingers and toes cut off. Walking would be awkward and balance would be more difficult to maintain. You couldn't itch yourself or pick up delicate things like pieces of pencil lead or needles. It would be an embarrassing and uncomfortable disability. I understand that cats do not feel emotions in the exact same way we do, but I am sure they can feel the pain, both physical and emotional, that comes with unnecessary bodily mutation.
