One pair of magpie wings.

Both about 25cm long.

It is the last pair I had of 3. This one will stay in my personal collection sinve magpies are my favourite birds :)

So wonderful! I with there was a bigger file though, it's rather small :/ which is depressing because this is easily the best magpie feather stock I've found on DA yet.

Oh, these are absolutely breath taking!

What type of feathers did you use? (Real or artificial?)
could you make a tutorial?

Oh well...
it is a real wing.

It is taken from a dead magpie and dried in salt. No smell, no rotting - everything clean.

I didn't change anything.

Hmm, guess I need to ask my friend to not throw away the birds he kills.

Thank you.

Preserving wings is pretty easy.
Just cut them off and put them on a sheet cardboard. Spread the wing with a few needles and then bury it in salt.
After a few days or weeks (depends on the size of the wing) it is dried and preserved.
