Juvenile Beech Marten Pelt

Origin: very young female beech marten, was found dead - whilst skinning we discovered that it was killed by another animal, much likely a cat or another marten

Info: This pelt is quite unusual even though beech martens are very common. They are not hunted when they are in this age.  I got the whole animal frozen from ShamanicTaxidermyArt and skinned it. It was then tanned by StanHoneyThief and I am pleased with the result. The fur is clean and most of the marten scent is gone. It may be mountable but I don't care about it. It won't be mounted anyway. Unlike the adult beech martens the juvenile fur is short and soft. But far from silky. It looks like it simply doesn't has guard hair. Whilst skinning I found many little holes in the skin and discovered that the skull was crushed. It seems that this marten was stolen from its nest since it was not old enough to discover the world outside.
