Nice one. I just love the fur colour and the pointy ears

Kind of reminds me when I was a kid and I went
Up in the basement and found a fox taxidermy
I took it down and played with it, then my granddad told me what it is. Oo damn.. I just freaked out so much I couldnt even move. Then for a few months I had a phobia of that basement. xD

Dark coal foxes like this are one of my favorite wild fox colors. This one is a particularly stunning example!

Oh that's such a beautiful fox! I see them all the time where I work, but they always look raggedy and patchy, but this one is jus so pretty! My dad and I hunt snowshoe hares to eat instead of eating chicken. I tried saving the skins, but they're so thin they're like tissue paper when dried :c instead I save their tails XD

Snowshoe hares are extremely beautiful :) It is a pity that you can't save the fur.

I don't understand, can someone explain to me why it's okay to use an animals' meat but not it's skin? Really, I've never found a good arguement.
Beautiful fox by the way.

This picture makes me sad, why should this be art?! This is no art.... Its a dead skin, from a poor animal.
If we would show the skin from the human who killed this animal, everybody would say its cruel....
fuck this world

I feel bad for you artists when your photos get put up on the front page. It's like throwing you to the dogs. All these ignorant PETA supporters don't even know their precious organization kills more than 90% of the animals they "rescue". Don't listen to them. They for some reason think that using every bit of the animal for various things is cruelty, though natives still do it to this day.

You are so damn right!
I guess we need a anti-rabies inoculation because of all those 'bites'.

There should be an option where I can choose wether I want it on the front page or not.

Btw, I just noticed all the fuss about taxidermy...

I come across such things daily when I interact with uneducated people of our varied society. DA in particular is full of teens and others who are far from having a decent background to judge what is what... live and let live, someday they will understand (or not)... trying to explain/educate others is just a wasted effort. :)

Was soll da toll dran sein?

Learn the facts before you start insulting people, PETA do nothing against these "dirty bitches" because it's legal and not harmful, the animals usually die usually, are put down in a humane way because of an illness and some times the animal was too ill to live or was abandoned in the wild and died of hunger as a pup/cub.

Lets see... You're complaining about something placed in a Taxidermy section (which is the art of preserving animals post mortum), showing off the pelt of a non-endangered animal whom, guessing from the fact it was from a trade show, was raised with lots of care (because if you want a Good/High class pelt/piece of leather, You treat the animals with LOTS of care and in a stress free environment to ensure no sores, bald spots, tick scars, etc etc etc) or was a pet whom was suffering, was humanely put down, and was very well preserved by the original seller. Yes, there are mills where animals are mass produced for fur, but there's a reason why it's only small strips or completely dyed on those poofy looking, ugly jackets.

Even as someone who doesn't directly work in the leather crating profession (my sibling does), but being someone interested in the arts (even if my skill isn't grand), there is great value in a picture like this. It's a valuable resource for people who need a color sample of the animal in a neutral light setting. Taking it live is fine, but the environment will affect the colors of the picture, and if you're invested in the arts, any resource is a good resource.

So please, save your dignity and stop whining.

I think we should just promt DA or yourself to make a journal/Hot topic/Bulletin about it, and maybe even a choice to block things like this if you're against it in the settings on your profile or something, art shouldn't get flagged and hate when there's nothing wrong with it and just because they "dis-agree" with it.
